Marconi Sailing Club supports beginners as club members. The official Learn to Sail page says it is a place to try sailing and schedules Sail Training Days for young members up to age 18 and adult members who are new to sailing or want confidence. The RYA Training Centre page says the member-only RYA Dinghy Sailing Level 1 course is for novices or people who have never sailed, with no previous experience required.
Training
Training is clearly available for members. The official site says Marconi is an approved RYA Training Centre and offers member-only Level 1 and 2 dinghy sailing courses, Powerboat Level 2 and First Aid. It also runs informal member sail training on selected Saturdays, including adult and youth groups, with RYA-qualified leaders and volunteers.
No current official evidence was found for public sailing taster sessions, open days, or try-sailing sessions. The site invites prospective members to visit and has member sail training, and an open-events page listed a Try Windsurfing Day on 6 June 2026, but that date had already passed on the 13 June 2026 check and does not prove current sailing taster availability.
The club is suitable for juniors and families. The membership page lists family, junior and young adult membership categories. The Cadets page says the club supports younger members through cadet sailing, with Cadet Week aimed mainly at ages 8 to 18 and groups from Beginner to Senior. The sail training page says training opportunities start with school-age children and include Beginners and Improvers using club Picos.
