Hykeham Sailability

Hykeham Sailability welcomes anybody with any disability, with or without sailing experience. The official site says RYA qualified instructors can teach the basics, build confidence to sail independently, take sailors through qualifications, improve technique, or sail the boat while the participant enjoys the ride.

The organisation says RYA qualified instructors can teach the basics, help sailors gain confidence, take sailors through different qualifications and improve techniques. Sessions are supervised by qualified instructors and experienced sailors, with a RYA qualified Senior Instructor running all Sailability sessions.

The getting-on-the-water page says sailing runs every Friday afternoon from May to October, 13:00 to 15:30, and invites people to come down and give it a try. The home page says the 2026 season starts on the first Friday in May.

The official site welcomes anybody with any disability and says a sailor's own carer is welcome. It does not publish a separate junior or family programme, but the Charity Commission record says the charity helps children/young people and people with disabilities.

Hykeham Sailability is specifically for boating with a disability and welcomes anybody with any disability. It uses Access dinghies specially designed for people with disabilities, and says carers are welcome although the organisation cannot act as carers.

The official site lists club boats used for Sailability activity: Access dinghies, a Drascombe Dabber and Challengers. This supports boat use within supervised Sailability sessions, not independent public boat hire.
