Hill Head Sailing Club says it welcomes people new to sailing, is an RYA Training Centre and OnBoard Access Centre, and runs start-sailing courses with first steps into a boat handled in a safe and calm way. The adult RYA Level 1 and 2 course is aimed at complete beginners or people who have sailed before but want formal training.
Training
The club is an RYA training establishment offering dinghy start-sailing courses for junior, youth and adult sailors, including junior/youth Stage 1, 2 and 3 and adult Level 1, 2 and 3. Its public 2026 calendar also lists upcoming RYA Adult Level 2 course dates from 19 to 28 June 2026.
Hill Head Sailing Club is a family-friendly Solent club at Fareham with dinghy sailing, racing, windsurfing, yacht activity, RYA training, youth sailing, and beginner entry points.
The official site lists a recurring new members evening every fourth Friday from 18:30 for people to look around and talk to the club, but I did not find current official evidence for public sailing taster sessions or a future sailing open day. The dedicated Open Events page advertises a 13 July 2025 open meeting, which is a past event and has not been treated as current availability.
The club describes itself as family friendly and says it offers activities for all ages and abilities. Junior and youth training includes monthly Oppie sessions for children from April to October, RYA Youth Stage 1 and 2, and RYA Youth Stage 2 and 3 for cadets aged 11-16. Membership categories include Family and Cadet, with cadets required to have adult responsibility unless on officially organised HHSC training courses.
Access
The clubhouse facilities page text says downstairs facilities include male and female changing rooms with showers and toilets, plus a separate disabled toilet and a lift. I did not find broader access information such as accessible sailing provision or visitor access guidance.

The membership page publishes 2026 annual and pro-rated membership fees. January annual rates include Water sport GBP 149.80, Family GBP 299.60, Youth GBP 74.90, Cadet GBP 58.42, Social GBP 74.90 and Swimming GBP 74.90. For June applications the listed rates are Water sport GBP 87.38, Family GBP 174.77, Youth GBP 43.69, Cadet GBP 34.08, Social GBP 43.69 and Swimming GBP 43.69. The page says fees are annual and non-refundable, renew in January, and can be paid by bank transfer, cash or cheque; it also notes a downloadable 2026 fees PDF.
Club-owned dinghies, including single and double-handed boats suitable for beginner children and adults as well as more experienced sailors, are available for members to hire after familiarisation and approval from training. The wider watersports page also says dinghies, SUPs and kayaks are available for hire for people with the skills to use them. I did not find a public non-member boat-hire offer.
