The club has beginner-relevant routes for members: adult dinghy sailing includes a beginner course for adult members learning to sail a single-handed dinghy, and the youth page describes beginner/first-time progression through RYA youth stages and OnBoard. The club training page says WSC does not offer training to members of the public.
Training
WSC says it is an RYA recognised training centre for shore-based courses, powerboat and dinghy training, normally delivered for members by qualified member instructors. Listed courses include Powerboat Level 2, Safety Boat, Assistant Dinghy Instructor, Dinghy Instructor, First Aid, and Safe and Fun safeguarding. The page states training is not offered to members of the public.
Taster· Unclear
The current youth page describes OnBoard as a beginner programme that lets children try watersports with no experience or equipment needed, but I did not find a current public taster-session date or public booking route on the official pages checked. The homepage still showed an Open Day item dated 31 May 2025, which is not current as of this check.

Membership is described as family friendly and open to all ages. The youth section says it includes over 160 children aged 6 to 18, is parent-led, and requires both the young sailor and parent or guardian to hold full club membership. The youth pathway includes groups from age 6 upward and describes club Optimists, Picos and Fevas for youth sailing progression.

Listed joining fee and annual subscription examples include Full Adult GBP 231 plus GBP 231 annual subscription, Joint GBP 321 plus GBP 321, Family GBP 416 plus GBP 416, Young Adult GBP 113 plus GBP 113, and Cadet GBP 92 plus GBP 92. Temporary membership fees are also listed, for example Full Adult GBP 23 for 1 month, GBP 46 for 2 months, and GBP 69 for 3 months. The joining page notes additional fees apply for club pounds, moorings, outboard shed and launches.

I found member use/booking of club dinghies and youth access to club boats, but no clear public boat hire offer or hire price. Adult dinghy sailing says members sail their own boats and have use of club dinghies; the training page says members can book a club dinghy via the members portal for club dinghy racing.
