Beginner
Beginners are supported, but with important limits. The club says it is an RYA Accredited Training Centre and can only offer training or rent boats to club members. Junior beginner routes are explicit: RYA Course A covers Stages 1 and 2, and Sunday Sail Clinics include a beginners group for children who have not completed RYA Stage 2 and are not yet sailing independently. Membership itself is restricted to residents of the parish, and the club says it is looking for residents who want to become involved rather than people seeking occasional access to a watersports activity centre.
Training
WWSC states that it is a Royal Yachting Association Accredited Training Centre and runs junior RYA Youth Sailing Scheme courses for members. For 2026 it lists two 3-day youth courses: Training A covering RYA Stages 1 and 2 in SailQubes/Optimists, and Training B covering RYA Stages 1 through 4 in SailQubes, Optimists, Toppers and Fevas. The junior programme also lists Sunday Sail Clinics with beginner, skills, progression and race-support groups. Adult Improver sessions are for adults who have sailed before and want help getting back on the water, with a club RIB/instructor on hand if needed; they are not described as complete beginner courses.

No current official taster session, trial sail, public open day, or non-member try-sailing route was found in the reviewed official navigation/pages. The closest low-commitment activity found was member-only Adult Improver sessions for people who have sailed before, plus junior clinics and RYA courses for members. The club explicitly says it can only offer training or rent boats to club members.

WWSC has a substantial junior programme. The 2026 overview lists RYA youth courses, Junior Week, Sunday Sail Clinics and junior racing. Junior Week 2026 is scheduled for 25 to 29 August and includes racing, supported sailing, fun activities and destination sails. The membership page lists Family and Parent & Child membership categories for children under 18. The safeguarding page treats anyone under 18 as a child and names a welfare contact.

No official Sailability, adaptive sailing, disabled access, or access-needs support information was found in the reviewed official pages. The club does describe limited facilities and a tidal venue with tricky access, but that is not accessibility support information.

2026 membership rates are listed: Family GBP 149/year with GBP 297 initial joining fee; Parent & Child GBP 98/year with GBP 197 initial joining fee; Partners GBP 98/year with GBP 197 initial joining fee; Single GBP 80/year with GBP 160 initial joining fee; Young Adult GBP 35/year with GBP 71 initial joining fee. Adult Improver tickets are GBP 20 per boat for own boat, or a bit higher when including club single/double-hander rental. Club dinghy rental daily rates shown on the current visible rental page are SailQubes/Oppies GBP 13/day, Toppers GBP 13/day, RS Zests/Pico GBP 16/day, and RS Fevas GBP 22/day, for approved club members only. Course booking pages are linked, but no RYA course prices were found in the reviewed visible pages.

Membership

Official site says the club sails from Snowhill Creek behind East Head, with weekend dinghy racing, cruising by tide, adult social sailing and training, junior training, junior week, RYA training for club members, and dinghy/tender/kayak storage.

Boat hire
Club dinghies are available for rent by approved WWSC members only; the club says it cannot rent boats to non-members. The rental fleet listed is 11 SailQubes/Oppies, 4 Toppers, 2 RS Zests, 1 Laser Pico and 3 RS Fevas. Members need the relevant induction/waiver/approval before booking privately. Training-event boat use may be included in the event ticket and supported by instructors, but does not make the sailor an approved private renter.
