Beginner
Beginners are explicitly welcome. The club says it runs novice coaching for members from mid May to mid July, and its Learning to Sail page says member coaching is provided May to September for beginners and improvers, with volunteer safety boat cover and buddying with experienced sailors. The club also cautions that it is a sea club with mixed sea conditions, so some sessions may be cancelled when wind is too strong.
Training
Training/coaching is available to members, including Saturday coaching from May to September for beginners, improvers, juniors, youths and adults. The club states training is by volunteers and that it does not do certificated courses. It encourages members to undertake the RYA Level 2 powerboat course and asks interested members to contact training@sully-sailing.org.uk; no RYA sailing course offer was found on the official pages checked.
Taster
The official Open Days page listed an RYA Discover Sailing open day with have-a-go taster sessions on Saturday 9 May 2026, 11am to 3pm. Visitors needed to be at least 8 years old, and experienced members would take visitors sailing in Sully Bay. As of this check on 14 June 2026, that listed event date has passed and no later future taster/open-day date was found on the official pages checked.
