Cardiff Bay Yacht Club offers RYA courses for all ages and abilities. Its training page includes free dinghy and keelboat taster sessions, youth beginner camps, adult RYA Dinghy Level 1 for complete beginners and keelboat courses aimed at first-time sailors aged 16+.
Training
CBYC is an RYA recognised training centre offering RYA training across taster sessions, powerboat, youth dinghy, adult dinghy, keelboat, shorebased and instructor courses. Course listings include RYA Powerboat Level 1/2, youth sailing camps, Youth Thursday Evening Stage 1/2 and adult RYA Dinghy Level 1/2.

Membership prices shown are Full GBP318 per year plus GBP109 joining fee, Student GBP73 plus GBP52 joining fee, Crew GBP88 plus GBP52 joining fee and Junior GBP47 plus GBP52 joining fee. Course prices shown include free tasters, RYA Powerboat Level 1 from GBP165, Powerboat Level 2 from GBP315, youth beginner camp from GBP187.50, youth improver/advanced camps from GBP375, Pirates from GBP10, Youth Thursday Stage 1/2 from GBP150 and adult RYA Dinghy Level 1/2 from GBP240. Berthing and dinghy storage prices are also published.

Membership

Official membership page lists full, student, crew and junior memberships and says applications normally take 6-8 weeks. The club offers pontoon berthing and dinghy spaces subject to application.

Boat hire
CBYC does not present a general public boat-hire offer, but the youth racing course notes that sailors without an Optimist, Topper, ILCA or RS Feva should contact the Sailing School in advance to hire one. Treat this as limited course-related boat hire/equipment access rather than open hire.
