Beginner
Shustoke Sailing Club presents itself as suitable for beginners. The club says it welcomes junior and adult learners, is an RYA accredited training centre, and supports new sailors from inexperienced novice through to competent sailor.
Training
RYA training is available. The club says adult and junior courses follow the RYA syllabus, with adult RYA Dinghy Level 1 and Level 2, youth sailing scheme courses, improver training, powerboat courses, safety boat training, first aid training, post-course coaching, and club boats available for practice after some courses.
Taster
Open-day taster sails are advertised. The 2026 training programme listed open days on 25 April and 25 May with 10-minute sailing tasters. The open-days page says visitors can look around, take a trial sail with an experienced helm, and that there is no charge for a demonstration sail on open days. It also says the club may arrange another date if open-day dates do not suit.

Suitability

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
Junior and family sailing are supported. The club describes itself as family friendly, offers RYA youth sailing scheme courses from beginner upwards, runs informal Pirates development sessions for under-16s who have completed RYA Stage 1 and 2, and says families can get on the water using larger club boats available to members. Membership options include Family, Junior Family, Junior, Student, and Young Adult categories. Children under 16 must be supervised on site by a parent or guardian.
Access· Unclear
No current official page found with clear accessibility, disabled access, step-free access, accessible toilet/changing, adapted sailing, or access-needs information. The training information says instructors try to provide 1:1 coaching where individuals need additional support, but this is not enough to confirm site accessibility.
