Rutland Sailing School says it supports beginners and more experienced sailors, with introductory sessions and RYA Level 1 for novices. The adult courses page describes Introduction Sessions as a way to see if dinghy sailing is for you and RYA Level 1 as an introduction for novices.
Training
The club offers a wide variety of courses and training through Rutland Sailing School. Adult training is taught to RYA standards and includes RYA Level 1, Level 2, combined Level 1 and 2, personal tuition, and advanced modules by request. Junior courses include RYA youth stages 1-4 and advanced modules.
The adult courses page lists 3-hour Introduction Sessions for people deciding whether dinghy sailing is for them. Anglian Water's current Rutland Sailing Club page also says an annual June open day offers people interested in the club and sailing a chance to go out on the water, but latest event details should be checked with the club website.
Junior sailing is supported through school-holiday courses for ages 7-9 and 10-15, RYA youth stages, booster courses, and club youth pathways. The youth and junior page says activities are for all levels and includes junior racing, family sailing, Ready to Sail RS Fevas, and Hydra youth coaching.
Access
Rutland Sailability is based at the club and supports people with disability to sail, with Thursday activity, Saturday young sailors sessions in season, accessible boats, assistance for disabled sailors using their own boats, and RYA-accredited courses with Rutland Sailing School. The clubhouse page states all clubhouse facilities are wheelchair accessible.

The official site publishes 2026 membership prices including U25 Individual GBP 190.00, Individual Membership GBP 335.00, Family Membership GBP 419.00, Student Membership GBP 74.00, Junior Member GBP 150.00, and Social Membership GBP 77.00. It also publishes boat-hire half-day prices: visitors GBP 45 single-hander, GBP 65 double-hander, GBP 75 Dart 16/performance boats; members GBP 15, GBP 25, and GBP 35 respectively; wetsuit/spray top/buoyancy aid GBP 5. Official and Anglian Water pages describe a large inland club at Rutland Water with family, individual, junior and crew membership, tuition/training sessions, social sailing and competitive sailing.
Boat hire is available all year round subject to availability and weather, with single-handers and double-handers including Picos, Lasers, Bahias and 2000s. The skipper must hold RYA Level 2 or Stage 3 to hire a dinghy, and booking is by email or phone with the sailing school.
