RVYC says adult sailing sessions are for adults who have never sailed before, welcomes beginners and improvers, and says there are no sailing prerequisites to join. Families with children who want to learn can join, with cadet and adult sailing routes available.
Training
RVYC describes itself as an RYA approved training centre running courses through the year. Current 2026 training evidence includes planned RYA Powerboat Level 2 certification dates, Safety Boat information, RYA First Aid, adult sailing registration, and cadet RYA OnBoard activity supported by qualified dinghy instructors.
Royal Victoria Yacht Club is a Fishbourne club with dinghy and yacht sailing, cadets, adult open sailing, RYA training, cruising and powerboat activity.
The Join Us page says prospective members can ask to arrange a sailing taster session. The club also published an open day on 2 May 2026 to look around and discover social and on-water activities; that date is now past and should not be treated as current availability.
RVYC offers family membership packages, cadet sailing for members aged 8 to 18, regular Friday cadet sessions, RYA OnBoard sessions, a summer cadet week/camp, and youth qualifications such as Youth Stages 1 to 4. The club says availability should be checked with the cadet team before joining as a cadet family.

The Club House page says assistance dogs are welcome and clubhouse and terrace access are step-free. RVYC also advertises an annual Open Day for people with disabilities, with the 2026 event listed for 18 July 2026. RVYC says members can hire club boats including Picos, Laser, Fevas, Wayfarer, Bahia, Topaz Omega, a Scow and RS Teras. The club says the dinghy bosun normally needs three days notice, and the Join Us page also says club boats, including Squibs and dinghies, can be hired for club events.
