RHYC says new members are welcome at any level, including people who have never set foot in a boat, and offers introductory Sailing Experience sessions for people new to sailing.
Training
RHYC is an RYA Training Centre offering RYA and club training, including adult RYA Level 1-4, junior RYA Stage 1-4, Powerboat Level 2, Start Racing, Seamanship, Spinnakers, VHF/SRC and First Aid.
The club offers Thursday evening Sailing Experience taster-style sessions from May through summer, open to members and non-members, costing GBP 20 per session; non-members can attend two sessions.
RHYC has junior sailing, junior training weeks, junior race week, junior membership, and a joint family membership category; junior sailing normally requires membership and RYA Level 2, which can be gained through RHYC junior training weeks.
Access
RHYC hosts and supports the Woolverstone Project, which provides sailing for people with physical or sensory disabilities from RHYC and Alton Water; the clubhouse page also states assistance dogs are permitted in the clubhouse, but detailed wheelchair/access information was not found on the checked official pages.

Club members can hire dinghies and keelboats including Optimist, Topper, ILCA/Laser, Feva/Zest, Vision, Wayfarer and Ajax; kayak hire is also listed, including a non-member kayak rate.
