Beginner
The club says people do not need to know how to sail or own equipment, offers taster sessions, and says beginners can sail after an hour or build toward sailing alone after a day or two.
Training
RVSC describes itself as an RYA Recognised Training Centre offering RYA dinghy sailing, windsurfing and powerboat courses, including adult dinghy Levels 1, 2, 3 and Seamanship plus youth Stages 1 to 3 where appropriate.
The website says taster sessions can be arranged for a small charge and that 2-hour taster sessions are available throughout the year on demand, space permitting.

Juniors, families, and accessibility
Juniors
Children from about age 7 can sail small boats; Ops'n'Tops junior sailing runs Saturday mornings from May to September for members' children, and Kids Club usually runs Saturdays 10:00-12:00 through summer for junior members and children of members.
Access
The club says sailors do not need to be fit or able-bodied and that it can accommodate sailors with disabilities within its Sailability Foundation statement; a local directory page also notes easy walking and wheelchair access around the reservoir perimeter path.
