Beginner
Complete beginners are not presented as a standard formal course audience at WPWC, but the club does support learners. The overview says individuals have sometimes taught new members with no previous experience, while advising that the most time-effective route is an RYA Start Windsurfing course at a recognised teaching establishment such as nearby Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre. The site says people with Start Windsurfing or higher should be competent to sail at WPWC, and the club promotes a GBP 15 try-before-you-buy/day ticket route. The 2026 events page also asks visitors to flag beginners needing on-water support for activity weekends.
Training
Training/coaching evidence is limited but present. WPWC recommends RYA Start Windsurfing courses at a recognised teaching establishment for complete beginners, naming Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre nearby. WPWC's 2026 events page lists free windsurf improver coaching for members on 23 to 25 May, and the homepage mentions windsurf coaching free to members. The official site does not show WPWC as running regular RYA beginner courses itself.
Taster
The easiest official try-it route is temporary/day membership: the site says prospective new members can use temporary day membership and the How to Join page says visitors are welcome to try before they buy for GBP 15. Visitors should use the Visitors & Day Sailing and Contact Us pages because they need the temporary gate code, insurance, and a visit coordinated with members. The site also lists 2026 activity weekends where friends and family may be invited and beginners needing on-water support should be flagged in advance.

Suitability

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
Junior and family evidence is present. The site says WPWC has promising young members and links with Hollingworth for young racing windsurfers, and that it has kit mainly for T15 youth sailors, normally aged 8 to 15. The 2026 events page includes friends and family activity weekends. The SUP and canoe/kayak pages say under-16s join for free, but a parent must be at least a social member, and the How to Join page references family subscriptions.
Access· Unclear
No current official page reviewed mentioned Sailability, adaptive watersports, disabled access, step-free access, hoists, accessible changing, or specific support for access needs. The contact page should be used for individual access questions.

Prices

The How to Join page links to Membermojo for membership types and prices, but that linked pricing service showed a JavaScript/cookies interstitial during this review. Official WPWC pages still publish several prices: try-before-you-buy/day tickets are GBP 15; full-rate 2025/26 subscriptions are stated as GBP 135 individual and GBP 195 family; SUP and canoe/kayak pages also state GBP 135 individual and GBP 195 family in 2025, under-16s free if a parent is at least a GBP 38 social member, and storage at GBP 55/year. Insurance is required at GBP 2M third-party cover; the site gives example annual insurance/membership costs of GBP 55 via RYA, about GBP 30 for windsurfing insurance, and about GBP 55 for higher-risk sports such as windfoiling/wingfoiling. Current detailed membership categories should be checked on Membermojo or with the club.

Membership

Official site says annual membership offers board storage and temporary day membership is available for prospective members.

Boat hire
The club has equipment for member use rather than a clear public hire offer. The overview and visitor page say WPWC has a wide range of club boards and rigs that members occasionally use, helping newer members start before buying kit, plus kit mainly for T15 youth sailors. The homepage says members can use two O'Shea inflatable wind-SUPs for paddleboarding, light-wind windsurfing, or beginner windsurfing. The wingfoiling page says members can borrow a beginner windsurf board or SUP for early wing progression. No visitor equipment-hire price or guaranteed visitor hire was found.
