The training page lists Junior RYA Stages 1&2 as suitable for complete beginners, covering launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, and basic sailing. The Commodore intro also says racing supports sailors of every age and ability from their first outings.

Current official training evidence is strong. The training page lists youth development sessions, Junior RYA Stages 1&2 and 3&4, Youth Week, RYA Safety Boat, RYA Powerboat Level 2, and instructor courses, with example current costs including GBP 10 youth development sessions and GBP 100 junior RYA stage courses. The 2026 booking page also lists multiple training sessions and youth development events.
Netley Sailing Club is a Royal Victoria Country Park club offering dinghy sailing, racing, windsurfing, junior activity, family membership, and RYA training on Southampton Water.
There is a limited visitor route rather than a public taster listing: the visitor page says a guest of a full member may visit to sail with that member for GBP 7 per person, visitors can visit up to 3 times before joining, and non-members with their own boat can use the facilities on temporary membership for GBP 12 per person. I did not find a current public Discover Sailing, open day, or standalone bookable taster session.
Netley has clear junior and family evidence. The training page lists Netley Nippers for ages 6-8, junior RYA courses and Youth Week for ages 8-15, with an adult responsible for the child required onsite for Youth Week. The membership page lists family membership for two co-habiting adults and children under 16, plus full individual membership covering an adult and children under 16.

The visitor page lists shore visitor GBP 3 per person, camping GBP 8 per person per night, sailing guest GBP 7 per person, and temporary membership with own boat GBP 12 per person. The training page lists example current course costs including GBP 10 youth development sessions, GBP 100 Junior RYA Stages 1&2, GBP 100 Junior RYA Stages 3&4, GBP 100 Youth Week, and GBP 100 RYA Powerboat Level 2, with some courses marked TBC.
Club craft hire is available to members, not as public visitor hire. The booking page lists Dinghy, SUP & Windsurf Hire as member only, and the resource page lists member-only craft including Cat, Feva, SUP, Tera, and Topper items.
