The club welcomes new members and visitors, including people who do not own a boat. Members may give beginners informal personal advice, but Hollowshore is not a learn-to-sail centre and offers no structured training. Oare Creek dries completely at low tide, which restricts dinghy sailing and day sailing in cruisers.

Prospective members can visit the clubhouse on Sunday lunchtime or use the contact form. The club noticeboard sometimes carries requests from non-members seeking crewing opportunities, but the club has not confirmed organised public taster sessions or trial sails.
Membership is open to new members of all ages, the main subscription covers a single member, couple, or family, and the 2025 application form lists junior membership for individuals under 18 at GBP 10. The club rules define full membership as including one or two co-habiting adults and children under 18 under their guardianship, plus a separate junior member category.

The official Join Us page says the subscription is GBP 60 for a single member, couple, or family, with no joining fee. The 2025 application form repeats the GBP 60 individual/family subscription, lists junior membership for under-18 individuals at GBP 10, and says people joining between July 1 and September 30 pay 50%, while those joining from October 1 pay the full amount including the following year.
The official site says members do not have to own a boat and that members include people with dinghies or no boat at all, but I did not find current official evidence that the club offers club boat hire or loan boats.
