Beginner-friendly sailing is supported. The official adult course page says beginners can go straight from Level 1 to Level 2, the RYA listing includes Dinghy Level 1 Start Sailing as a beginner course, and the booking page lists current 2026 RYA Dinghy Level 1 dates.
Training
RYA training is clearly available. Hawley Lake describes itself as an RYA Training Centre offering certified sailing and powerboating qualifications; the RYA listing confirms Training Centre status and lists Dinghy Levels 1-3, Start Racing, Seamanship Skills, Sailing with Spinnakers, Youth Stages 1-4, Powerboat Levels 1-2 and Safety Boat.
Hawley Lake Sail Training Centre is an inland sailing club and RYA training centre at Hawley Lake, with club membership, racing, Discover Sailing, youth activity, dinghy training and wider watersports.
Current tasters are supported by the official booking page, which lists 2026 Adult Dinghy Sailing Taster and Youth Dinghy Sailing Taster sessions at GBP 40. The separate Open Day page appears to describe a Saturday 18 May 2024 event, so it has not been treated as current open-day availability.
Junior and family participation is supported. The youth course page describes RYA youth courses and Junior/Family membership routes, the family-friendly course page says up to two adults and two children can learn together and is suitable for children aged 8 to 14, and the booking page lists 2026 youth, OnBoard drop-in and family-friendly course options.
Access
The official FAQ says activities are intended to be as inclusive as possible across a wide range of ages and abilities, asks participants to discuss significant health or physical issues, and notes cars are only permitted inside club grounds for disabled users. No dedicated Sailability or adaptive sailing programme was found.

2026 membership pricing is published: Individual GBP 182/year, Family GBP 259/year, Junior GBP 48/year and Student GBP 75/year. Sailing-related dinghy passes are Adult Individual GBP 240, Adult Family GBP 276 and Junior/Student GBP 112, subject to experience and membership requirements. The booking page lists examples including RYA Dinghy Level 1 at GBP 250, Adult/Youth Dinghy Sailing Tasters at GBP 40, Youth Sailing RYA Stage 1 & 2 at GBP 390, and Family Friendly RYA Level 1/Stage 1 at GBP 375-GBP 750.

Club dinghy use is available through member pass options rather than unrestricted public hire. The booking page also lists casual stand-up paddleboard hire, but current casual sailing dinghy hire for non-members was not found.
