The current official site describes Halifax Sailing and Watersports Club as a friendly club on 90 acres of water with training courses, and the current training page lists RYA Basic Sailing Level 1 and RYA Start Windsurfing weekend courses. The 2026 training membership form says trainees do not need to own a boat, have access to club boats, boards and equipment under supervision during and after successfully completing the course, and are actively encouraged to continue through improver groups. The current RYA listing confirms beginner-level dinghy, youth dinghy, powerboat and windsurfing courses.

The current official training page says the club is an RYA Recognized Training Establishment running weekend courses for RYA Basic Sailing Level 1 and RYA Start Windsurfing, with 2026 course dates listed from May to September. It gives non-member course fees of GBP 185 for dinghy and GBP 155 for windsurfing, including club membership for the rest of the year, and a GBP 25 course fee for club members who have paid a non-discounted subscription. The current RYA listing also shows Halifax as a Training Centre with dinghy, youth dinghy, powerboat and windsurfing course levels.

The current RYA listing identifies the club as an OnBoard Club and lists youth dinghy and youth windsurfing courses. The 2026 membership page lists family pricing and junior membership up to age 15. The 2026 membership form says family members have the right to use the club ashore and afloat, while junior members up to 15 must always be accompanied by a parent, guardian or nominated member acting in loco parentis.

The current equality policy says the club aims for inclusive and accessible training schemes and activities and treats participants fairly irrespective of disability, but no current official page checked confirmed step-free access, accessible toilets, adapted boats, Sailability sessions, or a practical access-needs contact route. Boat hire
Current official documents support member equipment borrowing, not public pay-as-you-go hire. The training page says successful trainees, as club members, can borrow club training dinghies and windsurfers subject to availability. The 2024 equipment-borrowing policy says club-owned dinghies, windsurfers and clothing are available for club members without their own equipment, controlled by senior instructors, not for long-term borrowing, and that the club does not charge for the use of equipment.
