The club says it was founded as a community club to encourage family sailing and low membership costs, offers RYA adult and junior dinghy training, and describes Wednesday pursuit racing as designed so beginners start with clear wind before more experienced sailors catch up. A current 2026 club race post also says a member event was suitable for grass-roots sailors with no prior racing experience, using club boats where rental fees apply.

The club is an RYA Accredited Training Establishment and says it runs RYA junior and adult dinghy sailing courses, plus Powerboat Level 2 and Safety Boat training. The About page also says Friday junior sailing has run for many years and that adult dinghy and powerboat courses run through the year.

The official site has an Open Weekend / Discover Sailing page saying the club is open to people who want to try sailing, SUP and boating, but its named 2026 Discover Sailing dates were Saturday 2 May and Monday 4 May, which were already past on this 12 June 2026 check. Current pages also mention Sunday social sailing by invitation and invite interested people to come down and meet the club, but no currently upcoming public taster session or open day was confirmed.

Juniors
The club is suitable for juniors and families. It describes itself as founded to encourage family sailing, says junior sailing runs on Friday evenings, and says the Friday junior section follows RYA junior training programmes. The current 2026 calendar lists Friday evening RYA OnBoard dinghy sailing from 18:00 to 20:00 starting 2 May, and the Discover Sailing page lists Puddleducks from age 7 upwards and Pirates from age 10 upwards.
Access
The club supports accessible sailing. Its About page says Gresford SC is an RYA Sailability Foundation club with accessible facilities and Sport Wales Insport Ribbon accreditation. A reliable accessibility listing says the club has improved access around its grounds and that RYA-accredited training courses are accessible to people with minor impairments, but also notes it does not yet have adapted dinghies.

Official 2026 membership prices visible on the club site are adult membership GBP 80 per member, 18 to 25 membership GBP 40, under-18 membership GBP 20 once a parent or guardian has joined, and boat storage GBP 50. The page says a second adult option has reduced-rate detailed pricing on Membermojo, but the Membermojo page was Cloudflare-blocked during this check, so no additional exact Membermojo prices are recorded. A 2021 comment mentioned RYA Adult Level 1 and Level 2 course prices of GBP 60 each, but that is not treated as current 2026 pricing.
