Budworth welcomes members of all ages and skill levels. New sailors can use adult and junior training, Learn to Sail courses, crewing membership, and informal Step 0 visits to meet the club before committing.
Training
Budworth is an RYA accredited Recognised Training Centre and follows RYA adult and junior syllabuses. Learn to Sail follows RYA Level 1 and 2, costs GBP160 for about 16 hours, and includes boat hire and buoyancy aids; Better Sailing is also listed at GBP160.
The club published a free Open Day for Monday 6 April 2026 with free sailing taster sessions, no previous experience needed, all ages welcome and no booking required. The training page also encourages prospective learners to email training@budworthsc.org.uk to arrange a suitable Step 0 slot.
Budworth has Junior and Youth Sailing for sailors aged 8 and older, with junior members under 17 and youth sailors aged 17-21. It offers junior better sailing and race coaching, Sunday morning blocks, Friendly Fridays and summer junior Learn to Sail routes; family membership is also listed.
