The club's RYA Adult Level 1 page says assumed knowledge is none, the course introduces dinghy sailing and is for getting afloat under supervision. The homepage says people do not need to own a boat or be a sailor to join, and the junior club usually accepts children aged 9-18 while considering applicants individually.
Training
Brixham Yacht Club says it is RYA affiliated and an RYA Recognised Training Centre. Its 2026 training page lists powerboat, safety boat, adult dinghy sailing, youth dinghy sailing, first aid and race-management courses. Adult Level 1 and Level 2 dinghy sailing pages provide course content, ages, duration and prices.
Brixham Junior Sailing Club usually accepts children aged 9-18, with up to 18 young people in a year. Junior sessions run Monday evenings April to September, using Picos, Toppers, RS Fevas and RS Quests, and RYA-accredited weekend courses prepare juniors for those sessions. Cadet membership is available for under-18s and family membership includes children under 18 at the same address.

Membership runs January-December. Published annual fees include Joint/Family GBP 230, Single GBP 150, Young Adult GBP 40, Cadet GBP 10, Associate parent/guardian of a new Cadet GBP 50 and Temporary Membership GBP 20 per week per family. Training examples include Adult Level 1 GBP 120 member/GBP 180 non-member, Adult Level 2 GBP 140 member/GBP 180 non-member, Powerboat Level 2 GBP 130 member/GBP 250 non-member, and junior RYA courses at GBP 160 with member discounts.
The homepage says the club offers dinghy hire to members with up to seven dinghies available. The Junior Sailing Schedule says BJSC has Picos, Toppers, RS Fevas and RS Quests for juniors to use.
