New members are welcome and the club says it will meet applicants who do not already have a proposer/seconder to talk through what they want from the club and what the club can offer. The site clearly supports junior sail training and says rowing does not require previous experience, but I did not find a clearly stated adult beginner sailing pathway or learn-to-sail offer.
Training
The club says it supports sail training, mainly for juniors, at neighbouring facilities. The public calendar lists Team My Blue Pass junior sail training and My Blue Pass schools sessions. I did not find current official evidence of RYA courses on the club site.
Stour Sailing Club is a Manningtree club on the River Stour with racing, moorings, rowing, regatta activity, pontoons and a clubhouse overlooking the river.
For rowing, the club says it runs Open rowing sessions most weeks, welcomes people who have not rowed before, and will get interested people out for a first row after they complete a basic information form. I did not find a current sailing-specific taster session or open day offer.
Junior activity is visible: the club says sail training is mainly for juniors at neighbouring facilities, and the public calendar lists junior sail training and school sessions. Membership applications are considered regardless of age. I did not find a specific family membership or family sailing pathway on the visible public pages checked.

The boat storage rules say the club will consider ease of boat access against boat size and the physical ability of the member, and asks members with special requirements to contact the Compound Manager. Dinghy mooring is GBP 69.00 for SSC members; affiliate mooring adds GBP 68.00, shown as GBP 137.00 total. Listed storage fees include summer season tender floor storage GBP 51.00, summer/winter tender rack storage GBP 51.00, summer season canoe storage GBP 33.00, summer season dinghy floor storage GBP 51.00, and junior summer season dinghy floor storage GBP 29.00. The public joining page also links a 'Quick guide to fees and charges' PDF, but I could not extract reliable text from it here, so membership prices are not stated in this evidence.
I did not find evidence of public sailing dinghy hire. The club does provide club rowing craft: two Harker's Yard gigs, a coastal scull, and use of a Claydon skiff. The rowing page says open rowing sessions are available and that gigs can be booked by club members who have demonstrated sufficient experience and signed up as approved gig users. The boat storage page also says a club tender and four launching trolleys are available for members' use.
