Ogston Sailing Club has beginner-friendly routes for adults and juniors. Adult RYA Level 1 is listed for 2026, though the published Level 1 dates had already ended by 2026-06-13. Junior Fleet says it caters for all abilities, including absolute beginners aged 8-16.
Training
The club lists adult RYA Learn to Sail courses and junior training. Adult training is for club members only. Adult Level 2 still has future 2026 course dates after 2026-06-13; adult Level 1 dates had ended. Junior Youth Sailing Scheme 2 is listed for ages 8-16 who have already completed YSS1.
A Sailability trial session is offered for people who want to try sailing one of the club's accessible boats or see what is involved. I did not find a general public sailing taster session for all newcomers on the official site.
Junior Fleet is aimed at young sailors aged 8-16 and includes absolute beginners through to certificate holders. Parents are expected to attend and help because the club says it does not operate in loco parentis. Family and youth membership categories are also published.
Access
The club has a Sailability section for disabled sailors and people with mobility issues, with Challenger trimarans, assessment using a buddy seat, support for regular sailing, inclusive changing facilities, and a Sailability membership category for Blue Badge holders.

2026 Sailing and SUP membership prices include family GBP 298.70, single 25+ GBP 247.20, single under 25 GBP 128.75, youth under 19 GBP 82.40, Sailability Blue Badge holder GBP 123.60, social GBP 51.50, and patron GBP 61.80. SUP-only prices are also listed, including family GBP 190.55, single 25+ GBP 154.50, single under 25 GBP 78.28, youth under 19 GBP 53.56, and Sailability Blue Badge holder GBP 77.25. One boat/SUP berth is included; additional senior berth is GBP 41.20 for Sailing/SUP or GBP 10 SUP-only, and additional under-25 berth is GBP 20.60 for Sailing/SUP or GBP 5 SUP-only. Adult RYA Level 1 and Level 2 courses are each listed at GBP 100. Junior RYA certificate training is listed at GBP 50 per certificate.
The official membership page says use of club boats and SUPs is free to all members, and the Free Sailing page says club boats are available on Friday evenings. This is member use, not evidence of visitor boat hire.
