Beginner
The official site describes NSSC as a family-friendly RYA Training Centre that welcomes new members. Its training section says people can come with no boat, specialist clothing or club membership, and the home page says the core Starting Dinghy Sailing course takes novice sailors to single-handed dinghy confidence.
Training
NSSC says it offers some courses itself and, with Brighton Watersports, a wide range of adult and youth training including RYA courses at Piddinghoe. The adult dinghy page says RYA dinghy courses are offered at the Piddinghoe lake site in conjunction with Brighton Watersports.
Taster
The Join Us page says NSSC offers free dinghy experience and sailing taster sessions for prospective members at Piddinghoe from April to September, with half-hour sails in large dinghies with an instructor. The linked 2026 WebCollect taster page displayed closed May 2026 slots when checked, so current dates should be confirmed through the official booking link or email.

Juniors
The youth sailing page says under-18 cadets are important to the club, can learn as beginners or improve existing skills, and can take part in training pathways, Cadet Mondays and Cadet Week. The home page also describes NSSC as family-friendly and says Cadet nights run at Piddinghoe.
Access
NSSC says it is registered as an RYA Sailability Centre and offers sailing and boating for disabled people at Piddinghoe, including Hansa dinghies, instructor-supported novice sailing, hoists, accessible toilet access, wheelchair-accessible site areas and volunteer support. The separate accessibility page describes level ground, hard gravel parking and access routes at Piddinghoe.

The 2026 membership terms show a GBP 30 first-joining fee but visible official pages checked did not show annual membership subscription amounts. The Join Us page says dinghy taster sessions for prospective members are free. The Sailability page says the first Sailability taster is free and later sessions are GBP 8. The 2026 boat-hire material lists Piddinghoe annual hire at GBP 170 individual or GBP 270 family, Piddinghoe daily hire boats at GBP 15 per person, and Seaford race-day boat hire from GBP 19 to GBP 25 with cadet rates shown for some boats.

Boat hire
Club members with sailing membership and at least RYA Dinghy Level 2 or Youth Stage 2 standard, or equivalent ability, can hire sailing equipment at Piddinghoe and Seaford. The 2026 hire page and PDF say daily hire is available during organised sessions or race days, annual Piddinghoe hire is available, and booking/payment uses Shlott and WebCollect. This is member boat hire, not public walk-up hire.
