Beginner
Beginners are supported through adult Start Sailing / Basic Skills training for novices, with RYA-trained instructors, training boats, buoyancy aids, and a course route toward RYA Level 2. The club also describes itself as a friendly family club where people can learn to sail.
Training
The club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre and advertises adult and junior dinghy courses, RYA Level 1/2, Level 3, junior stages, powerboat and safety boat training. Course enquiries go through the training enquiry form or the listed training contact route.
The official site says the club has taster sessions and runs taster sails. It also describes a club open day / leisure sailing invite where the public can visit and members take visitors out on the lake.
The club describes itself as family-oriented, has a Junior Squad / Dodd Squad, and offers junior training for ages 8 to 16. Dodd Squad sessions run on Saturday mornings from mid-March to November and include games, training and racing.

2026 official fees page lists annual sailing membership as Family GBP 230, Single GBP 200, Junior under 18 GBP 40, Young Person 18-24 or Student GBP 90, Associate GBP 50, and sailing berth fee GBP 50. Training course fees listed include Learn To Sail: Single GBP 160, Junior GBP 140, Young Person/Student GBP 140, Adult and Child GBP 230; Powerboat and Safety Boat course fees are GBP 90. Non-members taking training must also pay the applicable membership fee.

Club sailing dinghies are available for member loan while safety cover is available, subject to not being needed for training, booking, and qualification requirements. The normal fee is GBP 5 for single-handers and GBP 10 for double-handers, but the club says this fee is currently suspended for the first year of membership. This is club/member boat loan rather than public walk-up hire.
