Beginner
Current official pages support beginner-friendly sailing and entry-level training routes. The Sailing & Powerboats page says the club has new instructors, regular Saturday sailing lessons, and an opportunity to have a go at sailing. The Training Courses page lists the RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship course as a great introduction for new or inexperienced skippers and crew, and says the personal watercraft course is designed for first-time and experienced riders alike.
Training
Merioneth Yacht Club publishes current training information. The official Training Courses page lists shore-based RYA courses including Essential Navigation & Seamanship, Day Skipper Theory, Yachtmaster Theory, VHF Short Range Radio Certificate and RYA First Aid, plus on-the-water Powerboat Level 2 and Personal Watercraft Proficiency. The Course Dates and Prices page gives 2026/7 course availability and says extra theory course dates are available on request, with booking via the club training email.
Taster· Unclear
The Sailing & Powerboats page says there is an opportunity to have a go at sailing, but I did not find a current official public taster session, open day, trial sail booking route, or dated beginner sailing taster availability. The Paddling page mentions trying paddling activities before joining and arranging a taster session, but paddling organised by the club is currently suspended and this was not treated as sailing taster evidence.

Suitability

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
The club supports families and juniors through membership and club activities. The club rules linked from the official membership page define family membership as up to two adults and all children under 18 in their guardianship, and junior/cadet membership as under 18. The About Us page says the club objective is to encourage water-based sports and recreation for people of all ages and abilities.
Access· Unclear
I did not find current official accessibility information for disabled access, adaptive sailing, accessible facilities, or specific support needs on the checked official pages. The About Us page uses broad 'all ages and abilities' wording, but that is not specific enough to claim accessibility support.

RYA First Aid is price on application. I did not find current membership subscription prices in visible official content.

Membership

Official site provides membership applications and says the club encourages water-based sports and recreation for people of all ages and abilities.

Boat hire· Unclear
I did not find current official evidence of public sailing boat hire or member dinghy hire. The Course Dates and Prices page prices Personal Watercraft training using the club jetski, but that was not treated as general boat hire.
