Margate Yacht Club clearly supports beginners. The official training page says no previous sailing experience is needed to become a member and that first-time sailors can take club training courses. The RYA Dinghy Level 1 & 2 page describes Level 1 as for people with no prior dinghy-sailing knowledge or experience, and a 2026 official news item says the Level 1 course is ideal for complete beginners.

The official site says MYC organises sessions with RYA qualified instructors and lists RYA Level 1 Start Sailing, RYA Level 2 Basic Skills, Powerboat Level 2, Safety Boat and Youth Sailing Scheme Stages 1-4.
