Beginner
LTSC says it offers membership regardless of skill or experience and that people can come to an Open Day or call the office to look around. The club also says it is an RYA Training Centre offering sail training for all age groups from complete beginners, and its adult Start Sailing Level 1 course is designed for those with little or no sailing experience.
Training
Training is clearly available. LTSC is an RYA Training Centre offering dinghy sailing and powerboat instruction, including practical dinghy courses and tuition from age 8 upwards, adult Start Sailing Level 1 and Better Sailing Level 2, powerboat courses, and youth courses under the RYA OnBoard programme. Course booking and enquiries are handled through the club training pages, office phone, and training@ltsc.co.uk.
Taster
A beginner try-it route is currently supported, but appears to be club-arranged rather than a standing public hire offer. The Family Sailing page says beginners who want a taster session can have one arranged within the Saturday Sailing programme. The official site and club calendar also list a Club Open Day on Saturday 27 June 2026, 10:00-16:00.

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
LTSC explicitly welcomes families and children. It describes family sailing, Saturday Sailing, junior training, RYA OnBoard, Salterns associate sailing for LTSC members' children or grandchildren, 2026 youth activities, and junior sailing camps for kids aged 9 years and over. Family membership includes a spouse or partner and children or grandchildren under 18, with children able to remain on family membership to age 24 if in full-time education.
Access
LTSC gives explicit venue access information for its event spaces: sweeping staircases to all floors plus a fully accessible lift and accessible toilets on the first floor served by the lift. No current Sailability, adaptive sailing, wheelchair sailing, or disability-specific on-water support claim was found on the checked official pages, so this should be presented as venue access information only.

The official 2025/2026 membership subscription PDF lists monthly rates: Individual Youth 12-18 GBP 11.10 with no joining fee; Individual 19-29 GBP 20.89 with no joining fee; Individual 30 & Over GBP 34.39 with GBP 100 joining fee; Family Under 30 GBP 31.34 with no joining fee; Family 30 & Over GBP 47.99 with GBP 100 joining fee; Overseas GBP 17.30 with GBP 100 joining fee. For the club's 80th anniversary year, 2026, the joining fees are waived for the first 80 new members. Saturday Improvers are listed at GBP 15 per morning session. Club dinghy hire is GBP 15 per boat session and paddleboards are GBP 10 each for eligible full members; free use is available during named organised member sessions. Dinghy park charges are published separately for 2026-2027.

Boat hire
Member-only club dinghy and SUP hire is available, not public boat hire. LTSC says club dinghies and paddleboards are available for members to hire, with Club Dinghy Rental open to full LTSC members who meet the minimum experience or assessment requirements. Fees are GBP 15 per boat session and GBP 10 per paddleboard, with free use during named organised member sessions. Club boats may only be used by club members and cannot be hired out or used by non-members.
