Kielder Water Sailing Club says it welcomes new members of all abilities, from complete beginners upwards. The official site describes sailing, windsurfing and paddleboarding activity at Kielder Water, and WebCollect says new members receive an induction to help them settle into the club.
Training
The club says it is a recognised RYA Training Centre with volunteer qualified instructors. It offers member-accessed RYA training in sailing, windsurfing, powerboating and first aid, plus stand up paddleboarding courses. The sailing training described includes adult RYA Level 1 and 2 over five days, junior RYA Youth Sailing stages 1 to 4, and other dinghy courses when there are enough participants.
The training page says two-hour taster sessions are available in sailing and windsurfing for people deciding whether to join, with booking through WebCollect. The FAQ says tasters run from April to October. Membership prices are published for the current site: Family GBP 275 annually or GBP 25 monthly; Joint GBP 275 annually or GBP 25 monthly; Single GBP 205 annually or GBP 19 monthly; Student GBP 55 annually; Junior GBP 45 annually; Country member GBP 130 annually. A one-off access card and key payment is GBP 55, including a GBP 40 refundable deposit. WebCollect also lists an additional boat storage fee of GBP 55 and a Discover Windsurfing non-member session price of GBP 35.
Club equipment use is a membership benefit, not public day hire. WebCollect says members can use club boats, windsurfers and paddleboards. Hartley 10s, Toppers and Optimists are free to use when not needed for training; Hartley 12s and 15s, windsurfers and paddleboards can be booked by eligible members for a small donation. The FAQ also says members can use club boats or windsurfs, with wetsuits and buoyancy aids available.
