Beginner
The current official homepage says Huddersfield Sailing Club is a friendly family-orientated club and an ideal venue for people of all ages and abilities, including families and children, to learn to sail. It welcomes new members taking up sailing for the first time, provides informal coaching to club members, and says anyone interested in sailing is welcome at the club on any weekend afternoon. The FAQ says individuals and families often join as complete novices and receive enough initial coaching to start sailing on their own in suitable conditions.
Training
The current official site supports informal club coaching rather than confirmed RYA course delivery. The homepage says the club provides informal coaching to club members at all levels of proficiency, and the sailing page says coaching generally takes place on Saturday afternoons on an informal basis, with training days arranged for junior members during the summer holidays. I found no current official public evidence of RYA-certified courses at this club.
Taster
The current official homepage invites people who want to try sailing to contact the club to arrange a trial sail. It also shows a next trial-sail date of Saturday 6 June with booking essential, but because that date had passed by this 12 June 2026 check, it was not treated as current dated availability.

Juniors
The current official site describes the club as family-orientated and suitable for families and children learning to sail. The sailing page says junior training days are arranged during the summer holidays. The 2026 membership page lists family, junior and child membership categories and says juniors must be supported by an adult member. The FAQ says children can learn to sail if a parent joins as a non-sailing member and is always present when the child sails.
Access· Unclear
The current official homepage says the club has easy access to the water, but I found no current official public evidence confirming disabled access, step-free access, accessible toilets or changing rooms, adapted boats, hoists, disabled parking, Sailability provision, or a practical access-needs contact route. Official pages checked include the homepage, sailing, membership, club boats, FAQ, contact, downloads and key dates pages.
