Beginner
The club says it is an RYA-approved training establishment providing beginner to advanced courses. Its adult sail training is an RYA Level 1 and 2 combined course, normally run in May and September, with the final sessions at Hastings for beach, boat, rigging, launching and supported sailing induction.
Training
The official site describes the club as an RYA-approved training establishment. Adult sail training covers RYA Level 1 and 2, and the 2026 course page lists a six-day Level 1/2 course ending at Hastings on 13 June 2026. Powerboat training is arranged for full club members for club powerboat duties.
Taster· Unclear
The official site has an Open Day 2026 article advertising instructor-led sailing sessions and a clubhouse and boathouse tour on 16 May 2026, but that date had passed by this check on 12 June 2026. No current future taster session or open day was found on the checked official pages.

Suitability

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
The club says its youth section is based around the RYA youth training scheme, that youth beginner/novice sailing sessions run through the spring and summer seasons, and that membership includes Family and Junior categories. Junior membership is for children aged 8 to under 18, or over 18 in full-time education with approval, and under-18 junior members need a parent or guardian to join.
Access· Unclear
No current official page was found that clearly describes disabled access, adaptive sailing, Sailability, step-free access, or specific accessibility support. The adult training page does warn that sailing is physical, participants are likely to fall in the water, may need to get back into their boat, and need to help move boats to and from the water, with support and guidance given.

Boat hire
The club boats page says the club has a selection of boats available for members to hire. The 2026 Level 1/2 course page also says successful trainees attending all six sessions have free use of training boats on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons for the 2026 season, subject to terms and conditions. This supports member or trainee boat use, not public walk-up hire.
