Its start-sailing and training pages describe a beginner pathway through combined RYA Dinghy Level 1 and 2 training, with Level 1 for getting afloat under supervision and Level 2 for sailing a dinghy independently in fair conditions.

FYC says it is an RYA Recognised Training Centre and offers adult dinghy training from Level 1 and 2 through Level 3, Seamanship, Start Racing, and Club Racing. The training page describes Discover Sailing / Rediscover Sailing taster sessions but says the club will not be running Discover Sailing this year because the Fisherrow Harbour Festival has been cancelled. Juniors
FYC teaches RYA junior Level 1-4 courses, taking juniors from total beginner to sailing solo or with friends, and says students as young as 8 are welcome where swimming ability and water confidence are suitable. The junior page says juniors and families can access member-only RYA learn-to-sail modules and then practise during club events when a safety boat is on the water. Membership options include Family membership for two adults plus family members under 17, Junior membership under 17, and Individual under 23.

Boat hire
FYC has a fleet of club dinghies and Kinsman keelboats for members to use, subject to safety conditions.
