Exe Sailing Club explicitly welcomes complete novices and says dinghies, cruisers, club racing, casual sailing and RYA accredited training are available. The dinghy page says complete novices, young or old, can use the club's facilities, training and coaching, and the adult RYA Start Sailing course is described as ideal for complete beginners with no required experience.
Training
Exe Sailing Club says it is an RYA registered training centre offering members and non-members adult and junior dinghy sailing, yachting, powerboat courses and a Sailability project. Listed training routes include adult RYA Level 1-3, juniors age 8+ following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, advanced dinghy courses, practical yacht courses, shorebased courses and instructor courses.
Current visible taster-style evidence is specific rather than a general public open day: Girls Go Sailing says it provides taster sessions in yachts, the Hawk, dinghies and power boats, while Sailability invites people with no previous sailing experience to try sailing during the sailing season. Adult RYA Start Sailing Level 1 is GBP205 for members and GBP255 for non-members. Splash Night is GBP4 per child for members and GBP8 for non-members. Boat hire prices include GBP15 per 3-hour session for RS Quests, RS Zests, Lasers and RS Fevas; Toppers and RS Teras free to junior members or GBP15 for adult members; and Hawk 20 hire GBP30 per session.
Club boats are available to hire for members only; the site says non-members cannot hire club boats. The hire fleet listed includes 6 RS Quests, 6 RS Zests, 5 RS Fevas, 2 Toppers, 5 RS Teras, 3 ILCAs/Lasers and 2 Hawk 20s.
