About this club
West Lothian Sailing Club is a small, friendly club on Linlithgow Loch. It welcomes beginners aged 8 and over and offers informal tuition and support from members, rather than formal or recognised training courses.
Prospective members can arrange one free trial sail with an experienced member, weather permitting. The club can provide a wetsuit and buoyancy aid for the trial.

Junior membership is for ages 8 to 18. Cadet membership is available for under-8s with family membership. Junior and Cadet members must be supervised by a parent or nominated adult and remain that adult's responsibility during club sailing and events.

The club currently cannot offer accessible changing, specific access-support arrangements, step-free access to boats or adapted boats.

As confirmed by the club on 13 August 2026, annual membership is £120 for an adult; family membership is £120 for the first adult, £84 for a second adult, £48 for the first child and £36 for each additional child; junior membership is £77; student membership is £77; and Cadet membership for under-8s is free with family membership. Reduced rates may be available for people joining later in the year.
Annual membership includes use of club boats at no extra charge or members' own boats on Linlithgow Loch, use of club wetsuits, wet boots, waterproofs and buoyancy aids in a suitable size, safety boat cover during club-organised sessions and events, and access to toilets, changing space, a dedicated shower and a locker room at the adjacent Low Port Centre. Junior membership is for ages 8 to 18. Cadet membership is for under-8s with family membership. Club boats are for members only and are not available for public hire. Members can use the fleet at no extra charge. The fleet includes six Topper Topaz dinghies, one Laser, one Topper, one Laser Bahia, two Topper Sport 16s and one Optimist.
