Training

The joining page says visitors can come when the club is open and that, once a month on a Sunday afternoon in summer, the Social Sailing group can offer a chance to get on the water in a club boat to see if river sailing is for them. The contact form includes options for trying sailing with an experienced helm and visiting to find out more; the FAQ also says the club can arrange a sail if contacted in advance.
The youth courses page offers RYA youth courses for ages 8-15, and the FAQ says children can join through family membership or individual Cadet/Junior membership between ages 8 and 17. Published 2026 course prices include adult RYA Level 1 at GBP 265, Level 2 at GBP 265, or both for GBP 440. Youth course prices are listed as five day GBP 475, four day GBP 385, and October half term GBP 395. Membership fees effective from 1 October 2025 include ordinary sailing member GBP 270, family GBP 445, junior GBP 67.50, social GBP 135, and listed mooring/storage fees.
The site does not describe public pay-per-session boat hire, but it does state that members who complete Level 2 can use over 20 club dinghies for free. The FAQ says sailors do not have to own a dinghy because the club has club-owned boats available to sail, including ILCA/Lasers, 2000s, Wayfarers, Enterprises, Toppers, Fevas, and Optimists.
