Training
Training is available. The club says Tuesday evening sailing training runs in season and is open to all levels, with dinghy hire, instruction and buoyancy aid included. RYA dinghy courses are offered through Tuesday evening blocks, and the club also lists RYA powerboat, day skipper theory, marine radio and first aid courses.
St Andrews Sailing Club is a family-friendly club at East Sands, with regular sailing, racing, training boats and RYA dinghy, powerboat and shorebased course activity.
A current official news item advertised an RYA Discover & Rediscover Sailing event on 10 May 2025 for members and non-members, including the chance to try sailing for the first time. The general courses page also says non-members can drop by Tuesday training to observe how things work, but booking is needed to take part.

The welcome page says the club has 21 boats for training and hire, so visitors do not need their own boat to get on the water. The Tuesday training page says the training price includes dinghy hire, instruction and a buoyancy aid.
