Beginner
The official site says the club welcomes people new to sailing and runs Saturday novice sessions, while the starter page describes supported Saturday Social Sailing for beginners and novices. The club notes it is not a formal training centre.
Training
NHEBSC offers informal member-supported learning rather than formal RYA centre training: the homepage lists Saturday Beginners, Improvers and Social Sailing plus Wednesday Beginners, Improvers and Fun Time for 2026, and the April 2026 club rules say club boats can be used at Wednesday and Saturday training sessions with experienced-sailor supervision.
Taster· Unclear
The official homepage metadata describes an Open Day on 9 May 2026 with an opportunity to be taken out, but that event is expired as of 13 June 2026. The checked current official pages do not clearly publish a current public taster-session route.

Suitability

Juniors, families, and accessibility

Juniors
The official site describes NHEBSC as a family club, says Saturday summer sessions are for novices and youngsters, and notes under-18s must be accompanied by an adult on site. The April 2026 club rules say children under 18 may sail only when supervised by a parent or an adult nominated by a parent.
Access· Unclear
No current official Sailability, adaptive sailing, disabled access, step-free access, or specific access-support information was found on the checked official pages.

Costs

Costs, membership, and boats

Prices

The current official membership page lists Full Membership at GBP 100, a returnable key deposit at GBP 20, annual upper dinghy park first craft at GBP 10, subsequent upper dinghy park craft at GBP 20, and annual lower dinghy park fee at GBP 20. It says a member's partner and children resident at the same address can also use the club, renewals get a GBP 30 discount if paid before 1 March, and there is no initial joining fee.

Membership

Official site welcomes families, beginners and experienced sailors, offers open-day/taster opportunities and notes that the club is not a formal training centre.

Boat hire
The starter page says club boats can be used at no extra cost to members, and the April 2026 club rules say club boats can be used at Wednesday and Saturday training sessions with experienced-sailor supervision. This supports member club-boat use, not public boat hire.
