Beginner
Maidenhead Sailing Club says it welcomes all abilities from complete beginners to experienced sailors or paddlers, offers activities for novices through to experts, and has year-round sailing for complete beginners to expert sailors. The sailing page also says the lake has no tidal flow or boat traffic for social sailing and that safety boat cover is provided during organised sessions.
Training
Training is clearly available for members. The club says it is an RYA recognised training centre offering sailing, powerboat and shore-based RYA training, with adult RYA Level 1 Start Sailing, Level 2 Basic Skills and Level 3 Better Sailing, junior RYA Stage 1 to 4 courses for ages 8 to 15, sailing adventure weeks, Youth & Junior practice sessions, powerboat courses and other shore-based courses. Course fees are in addition to membership.
Taster
A current try-it route is supported for juniors: the Youth and Juniors page tells non-members who would like to try a session to contact the club to arrange a taster for their child. The membership page also says the club has an annual open day on the first bank holiday in May, but no current official page found with specific sailing taster details for that open day.

A GBP 50 joining fee applies in the first year. Training courses are available to members and course fees are additional to membership.
