KSSC says it welcomes inexperienced people who want to learn how to sail. The current site describes low-cost taster sessions at Levington and says beginners can gain hands-on experience and informal mentorship from experienced skippers and crew.
Training
The club explicitly says it does not offer formal training. It does say members can gain experience from qualified skippers and experienced crew, and may become accredited skippers once judged able to skipper the club boats.

Boat hire
KSSC operates two sea-going yachts for member use: Capella, a Dufour 365 Grand Large at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, and Ploes, a Bavaria 40 Cruiser at Cleopatra Marina in Preveza. Members can book yacht time through the club; only accredited skippers may take charge, and non-members sailing as guests use temporary membership. This is member club-yacht use, not public walk-up hire.
