Castle Cove Sailing Club

Castle Cove welcomes new members and says people do not need to own a boat, because crewing is a way to get into sailing with opportunities on keelboats and dinghies. Its activities page also says cruisers welcome complete novices who want to start crewing.

The club describes training activities throughout the year, including cruiser pontoon practice, dinghy class training, club boat driving refreshers and subsidised PB2 and Safety Boat qualifications. It tells users to watch club emails or contact the Training Manager through the contact form.

No current public taster session, open day or try-sailing event was found on the checked official pages. Sail4All gives supported sailing during club activity, but it is not clearly described as a beginner taster session.

Castle Cove has an active Cadets section for members aged 8-17, meeting Saturday mornings during the season. Cadets sail Optimists, Toppers, Picos, Fevas and other boats, with session club-boat hire available, and the club says it is a family affair with parents encouraged to get involved.

Castle Cove has club dinghies available for hire during club sailing activities when safety cover is operational. The Cadets page also says club boats are available to hire for cadet sessions. The club does not describe this as general public hire.
